Annual Membership Meeting
July 29, 2007

President Jon Peterson called the 2007 Annual Membership Meeting to order at 8:00 a.m. on Sunday, July 29, 2007, at the ISTA Home Grounds in Cedar Falls with 137 members in attendance. Director’s Don Wickliff, Rick Kalsow, Dan Wood and Barrie Swinbank were present.

The Secretary read the minutes of the 2006 Annual Meeting. It was moved by Phil Thyer, seconded by Kenneth Brandt, to accept the minutes as read. Motion carried.

The Treasurer’s report for the year and a summary of the state shoot were presented. There were 457 annual memberships issued in 2007 compared to 419 in 2006. The life memberships issued in 2007 were 10 compared to 7 in 2006. Grand total life memberships issued are 733. The daily fees for 2007 were $4,112 compared to $4,360 in 2006. State shoot entries thru Saturday were 5,044 from 5,047 in 2006. Cash assets as of July 23, 2007, were $26,655 compared to $23,832 in 2006. Total other assets are $600,773. Liabilities to the First State Bank of Colfax is $15,342.89, sales tax payable is $115, and accounts payable is $15,013. Gary Dudley moved, Jerry Pierce seconded, the report is accepted. Motion carried.

Jon then thanked the Directors, Alternates, Deb and her family, Wendy, Gene and Charlie, and all others who helped before and during the state shoot.

Election of President:
Pat Lyman nominated Jon Peterson, seconded by Blake Smith. R. G. Prucha moved nominations cease, seconded by Mark Scholl, motion carried. Jon Peterson was declared President.

Election of ATA Delegate:
Bev Dominicki nominated Tom Dentel, seconded by Craig Hughes. Mike Mead nominated Dan Wood, seconded by Charles Watson. Jon Halford moved nominations cease, seconded by Mark Scholl, motion carried. The vote was then taken by paper ballot and read by Bev Dominicki and Mike Mead. While the votes were being tallied, Neil Winston, ATA Vice President, commented on various trapshooting items and The Grand. Neil thanked Phil Thyer for all he has done for the ATA. Mark Scholl commented on the Friday youth shoot which had 70+ in attendance. The votes were read and Tom Dentel was declared ATA Delegate.

Election of ATA Alternate Delegate:
Jim Cole nominated Dan Wood as 1st ATA Alternate Delegate, seconded by Gary Dudley. Tom Hamann moved nominations cease, seconded by Robert Fuller, motion carried. Dan Wood was declared 1st ATA Alternate Delegate.

Phil Thyer nominated Pat Lyman as 2nd ATA Alternate Delegate, seconded by Tom Dentel. R. G. Prucha moved nominations cease, seconded by Robert Fuller, motion carried. Pat Lyman was declared 2nd ATA Alternate Delegate.

Old Business:
Jon commented that the electrical service has been upgraded at a cost of $10,000. Phil Thyer then commented to the group that he has enjoyed being the ISTA President and ATA Delegate, but it is now time in his life to devote to his family.

New Business:
Frank Sick stated that the targets have been excellent at the 2007 state shoot and thanked all who is involved in making the Iowa State Shoot the “Best Shoot in the Land”. 

Jon stated that many would like to see the ISTA facilities used a second time per year.  This year the ISTA was host to a 200 registered High School singles event the first weekend in May.  There were 176 shooters in attendance.  Jon also commented that the ISTA will be looking into mining the lead.

A motion was made by Noel McCalley that the meeting adjourn, seconded by Pat Lyman.  Meeting adjourned at 8:45 am.
